The postdoctoral workstation of SCGC (abbreviated as "workstation") was established in 2003. It is the first postdoctoral workstation in the China venture capital industry. After 20 years of development, the workstation has enrolled 113 postdocs in 18 batches, among which 83 have left the workstation and 21 are currently in the workstation. The postdoctoral research topics are closely integrated with the SCGC’s business. Topics selected usually focus on the investment prospect and potential risk of certain industries. What is unique about the workstation is that it emphasis on learning by doing. The workstation has explored a feasible solution to talent selection, mentoring and guiding, research methods, practical training and performance assessment, and an efficient way to train top-class VC professionals. Most of the post-docs joined the venture capital industry as front-line practitioners after leaving the workstation, contributing tremendously to SCGC as well as to the industry as a whole.
